Draft: review with a lawyer before publishing. This text describes how the app works today, in plain words. It has not been reviewed for any country's law and is not legal advice.
The short version: your week lives on your phone. There is no account to make, no ads and no trackers, and we never sell your data.
Who we are
Cadie: Chore & Week Planner ("Cadie", "the app") is published by [Publisher legal name] ("we", "us"). For anything about your data, write to support@meetcadie.com.
What stays on your phone
Your routines, plans, stamps, to-dos, checklists, Cadie's outfit and the facts Cadie remembers about your week (for example "meal prep on Sunday") are stored on your device. We do not receive them and there is no server copy. There is no sign-up, no login and no email address.
Your phone's own backup can include this data: iCloud backup or Quick Start on iPhone, Google's backup and device transfer on Android. Those backups are handled by Apple or Google under your settings with them, not by us.
When you use AI planning
Some features ask an AI model to write text for you: planning or changing your week, Cadie's questions before she plans, the morning note, Rescue my day, smart checklists and the written weekly review. When they do:
- The app sends what that feature needs (for example your list, your answers, the current week's plan and what Cadie remembers about your week) to our server, which forwards it to an AI provider and returns the answer to your phone.
- Our AI provider is Anthropic (the Claude models). [Confirm the provider and its data-retention terms before publishing.]
- Our server does not store the text of these requests or answers. Its request log records only the method, path, status and duration of each request, never their contents.
- The built-in planner works fully on your phone. If you never use AI features, none of your plan text leaves your device.
The anonymous device ID
To count free AI plans and to know whether you have Pro, the app creates a random anonymous ID the first time it uses AI. It is not linked to your name, email or phone number. On the server we keep only that ID, when it was created and how many AI plans it used each week. The ID also identifies your purchase with our subscription provider (below).
Preventing abuse
To keep free AI available, the server limits how many requests come from one network address in a short time. Addresses are held in memory for these limits and are not written to our database. We may also use the platforms' device-check services (Google Play Integrity, Apple App Attest) to confirm requests come from a genuine copy of the app. [Confirm before publishing: device attestation is planned but may not be live at launch.]
Purchases
Cadie Pro is bought through the App Store or Google Play, which handle payment. We never see your card details. We use RevenueCat to check whether your anonymous ID has an active subscription; RevenueCat receives that ID and the purchase records the stores share with it.
Notifications
Reminders, the morning note and the trial reminder are scheduled on your phone by the app. They are not sent from our server.
Analytics and ads
The app has no ads and no third-party trackers. Release versions of the app do not send usage analytics. If that ever changes, this policy will say what is collected first, and it will never include what you write. [Update this section if analytics are added.]
This website sets no cookies and loads nothing from third parties.
Deleting your data
In the app, go to Settings, then Data, then Delete my data. It erases everything on the phone and, if you used AI features, deletes the anonymous ID and its usage count from our server. Uninstalling the app also removes the data on the phone. Purchase records kept by Apple, Google and RevenueCat follow their own policies.
Children
Cadie is not directed at children under 13 [check the age that applies in your markets], and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Where data is processed
Our server is hosted by [hosting provider, region]. AI requests are processed by Anthropic, and subscription status by RevenueCat, which may be in other countries, including the United States.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your data, or to object to how it is used. Because we hold almost nothing about you, the quickest way is Delete my data in the app. For anything else, email support@meetcadie.com.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page, and tell you in the app when the change matters.
